Amy is now training in cities across the country offering the Certified Professional Coach program. She shares her story here.
“When I first began the Center for Coaching Certification’s Certified Professional Coach training program in August 2013, I had no idea where that first step would take me. Six months prior, I had been on a soul-searching journey – exploring who I was, where I wanted to go, what I wanted in a career and reconnecting with passions in my life of which I had long ago lost sight. While I had a successful career as a project coordinator and research analyst with a global company, something was missing. The exploration led me to take personality, skill, and strength assessments, and dabble in classes here and there. Still, I didn’t seem to find that spark, that affirmation, that all-knowing belief one gets in their gut when it tells them “this is it.”
That all changed when I took the Center for Coaching Certification’s CPC class. Everything connected with me and I had finally found that “thing” I had been looking for all along. I continued on with the Master Coach Program and the Certified Coach Trainer program. I really loved that the Center for Coaching Certification emphasizes ethical standards and training coaches to partner with others, empowering them to live their best life personally and professionally. The spirit of positivity the training brought through a solution-focused approach very much aligned with my values and what I wanted to carry forward in my career.
In becoming a Certified Coach Trainer, I am able to use the tools learned to train other coaches and advocate a philosophy of ethical standards and client-focused coaching. I am also very excited to apply prior business knowledge with my coaching skills in my own business as I do career coaching with college students and individuals transitioning in their careers. I look forward to partnering with others as their coach so they realize their full potential and make their dreams a reality. The Center for Coaching Certification has definitely helped make my dream a reality.”
Amy is a Certified Master Coach and Certified Coach Trainer through the Center for Coaching Certification and earned her Master of Arts degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Patterson School of Diplomacy at the University of Kentucky.
